Yesterday I took a day off. Like, an actual day off. Not one of those “oh I’m taking a day off I just have to respond to a few emails” day off. It was lovely and restorative and unfortunately I had an idea for a new book while walking through the forest, so now I’m back to being this specific panel of Batman:

Okay! So enough of the FUTURE! What’s happening NOW? Well, today part two of GOTHAM SKIRMISH is out: Batman #137! Jorge is back!! And boy oh boy he’s somehow even better than before?!
After our big setup last week, things explode in this issue, as Batman is a man possessed (both figuratively and literally!) in his war against crime!
When I’m writing single issues I like to make sure that there’s at least one cool / badass moment that sticks out. Whether it’s an image or a line or a surprise, I think it’s crucial to really make these single issues worth your time and money. I feel like this issue has, like, ten of them. Nine of which are all because of Jorge and Tomeu’s amazing art.

KAPTARA: UNIVERSAL TRUTHS #1 came out last week and it was really nice seeing it as SKTCHD’s pick of the week! I truly do think that Kagan is one of the greatest illustrators of our time. If a time machine existed he would be drawing half of MAD Magazine.
