So! Normally Friday is for SUBSCRIBERS-ONLY, our special VIP SECTION flooded with champagne and exclusive comics, but some big ol’ news dropped yesterday so I should probably tell everyone about it.

I’m writing a 10-issue Batman series called BATMAN: THE KNIGHT with Carmine Di Giandomenico on art and Ivan Plascencia on colours and it’s VERY PRETTY.

This news is so big that I trended on twitter and so did Margaret Thatcher, who was a massive Batman fan.

The news is so big that it’s almost as big as TINI WRITING CATWOMAN! We are both pretty thrilled to be doing these projects simultaneously. This is both of us (Catwoman) giving the readers (Batman) our very best:

So, what’s BATMAN: THE KNIGHT all about then? Well, we’re telling the definitive story about Bruce Wayne leaving Gotham and searching the world for his purpose, and for the tools to become the greatest hero of all time. Over the years readers have seen glimpses of this period of his life, but never as its own story, as a proper volume that will, hopefully, stand the test of time on the shelf next to the great markers of his big ol’ bat-journey.

I think issue one may be the best thing I’ve ever written? Bruce Wayne is such a joy to write, and getting to expand on his relationships with Alfred and the world has been supremely satisfying. And I have to tell you, Carmine is a superstar artist. He’s made this a real thing of beauty, rising to the challenge of the many locations and the dark shadow that hangs over Bruce.

A lot of people, upon hearing the news of this mini, were scared (terrified??) that this meant I’d have to give up writing Daredevil. But here’s a secret: I’ve already written seven issues of BATMAN: THE KNIGHT! This has been a long-gestating project and I’m eternally grateful to DC for giving Carmine and myself the time to give this our all.

So, yeah, I’m still on Daredevil.

Uh.

It’s manageable, don’t worry. At least I’m not also drawing and colouring and lettering a book, I—oh shit.

Time for PART FOUR of PUBLIC DOMAIN!
