THE WHITE TREES! THE WHISPER QUEEN! STEGMAN??

Chicago was amazing, C2E2 was a total blast. My line at the show was artificially long because I am slow and cheap, but I am very grateful to everyone who stood in it to see this shell of a man. I took one photo all weekend and it was of of my final word on the character of “The Punisher.”

I am an artiste.

It was nice getting to hang out with fellow comics people. Had some lovely dinners with writers, artists and editors of future projects and projects past. Even managed to break bread with Mr. Ryan Stegman, though that dinner almost didn’t happen because I forgot I was dealing with a comic artist:

It ended up being a lovely night. Ryan had a lot of ideas about how to make the comics industry better. He kept saying that characters need to “start bustin’” in the books, but wouldn’t clarify what “bustin’” meant. He would just make a weird grimacing face when he said the word. Also, he would only say “bustin’” when his mouth was full of food.

Yesterday, when I got home, my lovely wife said there was leftover pizza in the fridge and “a can of Coke with Batman on it.” I opened the fridge and saw this:

Is she fucking with me at this point? I don’t even know. The other day we were out for a walk and I jokingly asked her for some Batman ideas. She said, “I don’t know anything about Batman.” I said that’s crazy. Everyone knows Batman.

“I know two things about Batman,” she said. “One: there’s a guy named Alfred. Two, there’s Gwyneth Paltrow.”

“I … Gwyneth Paltrow was in Iron Man.”

“Oh. Then I know one thing about Batman.”

She is my rock. How can I ever be in danger of having an ego with the love of my life around?

This week is a BIG ONE. Maybe the most important week of the year?? THE WHITE TREES Collected Edition is out! And THE WHISPER QUEEN is finally out, the sequel to The White Trees! All lovingly illustrated by Kris Anka and Matt Wilson!

Myself and the whole team are beyond excited for all of you to finally meet our new cast of characters.

Much like with THE WHITE TREES, we’re going deep into parenthood and regrets. And also some sexiness because Kris Anka demands sexiness. I hope everyone gets a chance to pick these up and enjoys them!
