Look, I don’t go on twitter much these days. When I do it’s like walking back into your old high school and forgetting that high school is LOUD and VERY DRAMATIC and you cover your ears instinctively because why is everyone yelling about absolutely everything
But I heard something happened to one of my favourite DC characters: Guy Gardner. And so I opened twitter.com and searched “guy gardner” and this is the first tweet that came up:
It’s the perfect tweet and the perfect account name and the perfect representation of twitter. I absolutely love it. Yeah, you know what, Guy Gardner Bubble Butt? I agree. I ALSO don’t care anymore. If you hate Guy Gardner? Well, then, fuck you.
I closed Twitter immediately after seeing this tweet, feeling perfectly satisfied. Don’t tell me what happened to Guy Gardner. I don’t want to know!!!!
WELL, IT TURNS OUT THAT GUY GOT—
I said I don’t want to know!!!
Okay, what’s happening this week… I have a book out! Surprise, surprise. It’s the second hardcover of my Daredevil run! I know a lot of people would be surprised that the first volume is out of print as the second volume hits the shelves, but it’s a very high level sales trick, you wouldn’t understand.
I don’t have a copy of volume two yet (or volume one for that matter!), so I was very happy to get a sneak peek through Melanie and Omar’s youtube channel! It looks good !
Anyway, the BIG RELEASE this week isn’t mine at all! It’s GHOST CAGE by Caleb Goellner and Nick Dragotta, edited by Mangasplaining master David Brothers!
I’ve already gone on about this book before, but I’m telling you again that it’s gorgeous and fun! Go get it, dummy!!!
Also today, David and Nick are practically giving away their short story GOOD DEVILS, which is a wild apocalyptic tale populated by amazing characters and crazy kinetic action! It’s a true delight, and they’re also including a short prose story by David AND the process pages from the comic’s creation!
It’s only FIVE DOLLARS for the digital downloads and I’ve been told that if you enter the promo code CHIP then it’s ten dollars.
Go get it!!! Support cool projects!
More info about both projects in David’s thread below!
HA HA YOU WENT TO TWITTER AGAIN
I’d do ANYTHING for David!!!! We met when he worked for Image and he was the king of the convention panels, cooler and smarter than I’ll ever be. Well, maybe not cooler since he paints gundams or whatever, but pretty close.
Speaking of Image, back in the day when Matt and I started Sex Criminals, we did a lot of various printings of those first few issues. I remember getting a PDF of one and noticed that there was a house ad in the back celebrating the founders of the company. Honestly they all looked like a bunch of dorks, but literally everyone did in the early 90s, myself included, so it’s okay I guess
Anyway, Matt and I took the ad before it went to print and added us in the photos as secret Image founders
Whenever anyone at a convention brings me a copy of Sex Criminals issue four, the second printing of our photo cover, I always flip to this page and point us out. I feel, very strongly, that this makes us retroactively Image founders and that Matt and I deserve some goddamn respect.
Anyway! Take care!
LMAO. Had no idea you guys were secret Image founders. Well give credit where credit is due! I've always had a sneaky suspicion that Chip originally created Spawn.
great job on Ghost Cage Chip!
