JOKER'S BIG DAY
Look, I want to be clear up front: I don’t endorse his crimes!!!!!! But I do like The Joker. Much like Batman, he’s a very malleable character and there are a lot of fun takes on him across all media. So I always knew I’d want to take a stab at a proper Joker story during my run. And this is it!
JOKER: YEAR ONE starts today in Batman #142!
A three-issue story about Joker’s first steps into a new world, beautifully illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Stefano Nesi and Alejandro Sánchez! But also…
…it’s a story about Joker in the future! With stunning, gritty visuals from Andrea Sorrentino and Dave Stewart!
As always, I’m not going to spoil anything here, but I will say that people who have read this will get some extra enjoyment out of the story:
That’s right! BATMAN: THE KNIGHT, about Bruce Wayne’s early worldly adventures, has some ties to this story! So if you haven’t read it yet, go buy it! It’s a really nice collection, I swear!
Also, as this photo indicates, I got a haircut. I did so immediately after posting the following image, which SKTCHD has rudely (and illegally) used to promote my appearance on his Off-Panel podcast via twitter:
It’s absolutely one of those images where I posted it thinking “ha ha it’s funny how bad I look now” and then spent an evening crying in the bathroom about how bad I look now. Am I at the stage of my life where I start … moisturizing my aged face? I guess so!!
