WHITE HOUSE ROBOT ROMANCE! CAPTAIN AMERICA! ZCN!

Look, I swear I didn’t plan it this way, but, yes, my new DSTLRY series takes place in a WILD FUTURE where Canada and America are about to go to war. After having a CAPITOL STORMING in AVENGERS: TWILIGHT (complete with an Elon-style character in the White House) I’m starting to feel like a shitty Comics Nostradamus.

But, hey! Let’s talk about POSITIVE things! Like the fact that WHITE HOUSE ROBOT ROMANCE was just announced and I’m really excited! This DSTLRY series is about two robots who work together and have a forbidden romance! Their boss? The President of the United States ! It’s sweet and charming and full of action and political intrigue and it’s fuckin’ gorrrrgeous thanks to the amazing Rachael Stott and Tamra Bonvillain!

I obviously love Rachael’s work, having worked together several times before, and I’ve always wanted to work with Tamra properly on something as she’s the best in the business at giving scenes and characters warmth with gentle rendering. When these pages started coming in it felt like I was settling into a nice hot bath. Ahhhhhh…

Anyway, this has been a joy to work on, it looks gorgeous, and we’ve lined up some amazing variant artists, including one of my heroes, THE Jill Thompson! Look at this beauty! All traditional!

I juat got back from La Mole in Mexico which was FANTASTIC. The readers there were so kind and generous. Came home with plenty of lovely gifts even if some of them make me look fuckin’ insane.

Also, at La Mole, it was the first time I paid for a cleebrity photo op! Linda Hamilton was there, Peter Weller was there, but I went for the REAL celeb:

JEFF THE LAND SHARK. Friend Of The Stack Kelly Thompson’s delightful creation with the artist Daniele di Nicuolo (and made super popular by the artist Gurihiru) was available for very affordable photos. He was as delightful as you’d imagine. Made time for everyone, only bit one hand off. A true gentleshark.
