OH SHIT HERE HE GOES AGAIN
Look, sure, I’m very happy that io9 listed both WHITE TREES and SPIDER-MAN: LIFE STORY as two of their BEST COMICS OF THE YEAR.
And, yeah, it’s really nice that SYFY listed DAREDEVIL as THE BEST NEW SERIES OF THE YEAR AT LEAST I’M ASSUMING IT’S NUMBER ONE BECAUSE OF THE “01” NEXT TO IT
And I’m surely tickled that SYFY also proclaimed SEX CRIMINALS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL INDIE COMICS OF THE DECADE. They have a “09” next to it, but I don’t think this one is ranked because Wicked+Divine has a “01” next to it.
But I can’t really enjoy any of this because I fucking thoroughly lost IGN’s BEST COMIC SERIES OF THE YEAR public vote even though I literally begged all of you to vote for me on many social media platforms. Do you have any idea how embarrassing this is? To brazenly attempt to win an election through pandering and pleading only to have it not work? Like, at all? To say that you’ve disappointed me is a wild understatement. If you didn’t vote for me, you’re the fucking worst. If you voted for me once, then you’re honestly trash. Real fans would have voted for me a dozen times across all web browsers and on a variety of computers at the local library.
I thought I knew you.

Today! DAREDEVIL#15!
Matt and Elektra fighting the good fight! Wilson Fisk fighting a less good fight! Marco was basically born to draw Elektra’s hair!
And our final issue of INVADERS, #12 is out today.
This was an incredibly satisfying series to write. Getting to explore the bond between these characters (and test them) was a treat from start to finish. I can’t thank Carlos Magno enough, who tirelessly worked to create the most detail-rich and dynamic art you can ever hope to have from a monthly comic book. There’s a spread in here that’s just jaw-dropping.
And Butch Guice, a true master of expression and storytelling, elevated our covers and the flashback scenes and gave me the gift that keeps on giving: d-bag young Xavier:
Alex Guimãres held it all together with his vivid palette, and Travis Lanham somehow squeezed all my terrible words in with design grace.
Finally, thanks to Tom, Alanna and Shannon, the best editors in the business, who trusted me with Marvel’s oldest characters and almost never yelled at me.
