Hey hey! We won an Eisner Award!
AFTERLIFT got the BEST DIGITAL COMIC award last Saturday! Though as far as I’m concerned there’s only one truly Best Digital Comic in existence!
Jason, Paris, Aditya and Allison are a dream team and seeing them be recognized for putting up with me is really delightful. The best part is, our publisher comiXology sent the team gift baskets which included some lovely pears which I turned into a delicious pear crisp so now my wonderful wife is interested in what I do for a living! Thanks comiXology!
But for real, can I be real with you for a second?

This was some really nice news. I enjoy working on my Marvel books, but getting to create something new with friends and have it recognized makes me …happy? Is that what that feeling is?
COULD JUST BE THE MOMENTARY ABSENCE OF SAD
Fair. In any case, I’m especially happy (aka not sad) for Jason, as this is his first Eisner win of, I’m sure, many to come! He’s one of my favourite human beings! What a nice thing!!
Also, I was able to work my latest win into my bio, so that’s fun:
(I’m doing a panel at an online comic con in a couple of weeks? To make it feel more genuine I’m going to burn thirty dollars at some point and eat a hot dog)
CLASSY
Thank you! Speaking of classy, today is the release date for the penultimate issue of SEX CRIMINALS, which is essentially the finale of the book as our final issue is a flash-forward epilogue.
Having a lot of feelings, not gonna lie! I’m both sad it’s ending, happy we’re ending it on what I hope is a high note, and horny for the Kevin Wada XXX cover:
I’m sure I’ll have more, aka too much, to say about the series when the final issue drops. But between now and then, the giant SEX CRIMINALS: SEXUAL GARY one-shot comes out, drawn by Rachael Stott and coloured by Enrica Eren Angliolini and it is just a stunningly gorgeous issue of debauchery and guffaws. And they let me letter it! Me! Chip!
I HIGHLY DOUBT THERE’S A BEST LETTERER AWARD IN YOUR FUTURE
On this, we can really agree! I’m quite bad at it!
But you know what I’m quite good at? Doing a bunch of interviews instead of working!
