Newsletter #32: The Sad Climax
Short and sweet, just like me if I was made of milk chocolate and the sun melted me down a foot or so!
It’s a short one today because I’m a fucking lazy piece of shit!
The big news is that I’m done illustrating SEX CRIMINALS. Last night I got to show Matt the final lettered and coloured issue and we both got manly misty seeing these characters interacting for the last time. It’s a thing! I’m sure I’ll talk more about it when the issue comes out obviously—
UGH OBVIOUSLY
—but for now we’re focused on sending this bad boy to the printer. So it’s your LAST CHANCE to send in your thoughts to our award-winning-if-there-were-awards-for-these-things letter column LETTER DADDIES. The email is emailthesexcriminals@gmail.com and yes I’m still stunned gmail allowed that address.
Next up! STILLWATER #1!
I THOUGHT THAT ALREADY CAME OUT LAST WEDNESDAY
It did! And it SOLD OUT ON THE SAME DAY! Skybound and Image are rushing it back to press! Scrambling! Running around the printing plant! Breathless and scared that they won’t be able to meet demand in time!
Look at the pretty new cover!
Heres my quote from the press release:
“Look, I’m not mad if you didn’t buy our first printing. I get it. You work hard, you’re a busy person, and it’s tough finding time to make it down to your comic store on Wednesdays. This second print will catch you up in time for issue two, which you’ll surely have on order now so this doesn’t happen again. Take care, Chip.”
I’m a master salesperson!!!
Next up! DAREDEVIL!
THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR?
The very one!
THE MAN WITHOUT HAPPINESS BECAUSE HIS WRITER IS A MONSTER?
Uh … sure! The very one.
Issue 22 is out today! A big fun reveal and a couple of favourite lines are in this one as Daredevil enters the legal system and prepares for the worst! Francesco Mobili And Victor Olazaba join our colourist Mattia Iacono in giving series regular Marco a break and do an excellent job on the art!
OKAY ANYTHING ELSE MISTER “IT’S A SHORT ONE TODAY?”
Nope! I’ll just leave you with this thing I made revealing why Batman hates Superman so much.
Take care.
-Chip!
