Spoiler: I love you

I recently moved and the new place I’m staying in has one of those kitchen faucet taps that I hate. A single lever where temperature is controlled with an up or down motion and hot and cold aren’t marked well, so you keep second-guessing if you’re waiting for the cold water to become hot or are you just a fuckin’ sucker. Anyway, I told my wife that I had a way of remembering it:

“Up is hot, which is the opposite of what you’d think, ‘cause Hell is down. The character I write—”

“Devilman”

“I … no. Daredevil. Daredevil is, y’know, a character dressed like the Devil, and yet he rises to the occasion. So! Hot, aka Daredevil, is up!”

“Cool down and heat up.”

“What?”

“That’s how you remember it. You cool down and heat up.”

“…”

Anyway, that’s why my wife is smarter than I am and a clear example of how I overthink things. And lately I’ve been overthinking DAREDEVIL for YOUR pleasure!!!

Today issue 25 came out. Hot on the heels of issue 24 because, well, people needed to read this before KING IN BLACK #1. It’s a shared universe and I’m livin’ in it, baby!!

The whole team is super proud of this issue. It’s a major turning point for our characters and I’m incredibly happy that we’ve managed to keep it all under wraps for, well, a year. The natural thing to do with a big status quo shift in comics is to heavily promote it by spoiling the twist, which, hey, if we’d done that then we would have made more money. But it’d be at the expense of our readers who’ve been following every chapter of this book, following our twists and turns and surprises. And I couldn’t do that to you. You mean too much to me.

And hey, this is a spoiler for page one, but damn, look at Marco nailing that JRJR Matt hair. And wow, Marcio’s colours! Everything in this issue is so beautiful.

The next two issues are KING IN BLACK tie-ins where we reveal that Elektra’s hair is a symbiote.
