But no anime

I’m a dummy.

YES

But, like, for real. I can tell you what issue Spider-Man defeated Firelord (Amazing Spider-Man #270), but I can’t tell you how to, say, treat a small wound or—as of this week—treat a highly infected small wound. My knowledge gaps are wide, both in life and culturally.

But a truly embarrassing gap in my knowledge, considering my chosen career (defeating Firelord), is in Japanese comics, aka manga.

Last year I went on a trip to Japan with some friends and we toured several manga museums and shops and I was as lost as the classic robber looking for the elevator until Spider-Man helped him out. So now, with the aid of my friends, I’m finally finding the elevator.

MANGASPLAINING! Our new weekly podcast where my friends Deb, David and Chris all suggest great manga to me! Every episode we delve into a new manga and I ask a lot of basic questions and my friends are incredibly patient with me! It’s been a ton of fun and I hope you’ll check it out and maybe even follow along with our reading list!
