When you’re a comic book creator you rely on rumors and whispers when it comes to adaptations of your work. Clandestine set photos, PAs who are trying to sleep with you, Kevin Feige after one and a half beers, these are the ways you can find out if your work is going to be on the big/small/tiny screen before the general public (ugh).

So, my Google Alert for “chip zdarsky hollywood $$$” went crazy last week with this article: https://www.thewrap.com/spider-man-brand-new-day-title-reveal/

Okay, so the new Spider-Man movie is NOT named after any of my stories, but! In the article there’s this little tidbit:

I took last week off of writing the newsletter for personal reasons. I know when I say “personal reasons” everyone thinks it’s sex related and of course they’re right.

But anyway, missing last week meant missing the release of the TIME WAITS collection!!

It’s a real beaut. I know I tell you to buy all my stuff—it’s kind of my thing!—but this one is super special. A complete story in a gorgeous package, made with my pals. Buy it for yourself! For a pal! For a dad or an aunt but NEVER a mom or an uncle I don’t know why that is I just follow the rules!!

Another thing that happened last week was the launch of THE DC ART OF JORGE JIMENEZ Kickstarter!!

I know, and you know, that Jorge is probably the greatest superhero artist working today. He’s simply the best. So obviously you want to see his work collected in a lovely edition. Go check it out!

I miss my beautiful boy

Oh shit I missed ANOTHER book that came out last week!! FANTASTIC FOUR: FATE OF THE FOUR is a softcover collection of my MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE run and it remains a real high point for me in my career. I’ve talked many times about this run so I won’t bore you again. Instead, I’ll post the beautiful original page Jim Cheung gave me from it!

Wild, eh? It’s just so perfect.

Okay, last but not least, a reminder of my signing at THIRD EYE COMICS in a couple of weeks! David and I will be on hand to sign TIME WAITS and anything else that you put in front of us!

It’s gonna be a great time. THIRD EYE is always the best!
