holy shit yesterday was … a thing.
Some REAL MIXED EMOTIONS going on here at Zdarsky Manor (Shack). I’m currently living in the woods and look like this:
…so when I turn to my wife and say “wow thousands of people are saying nice things about me online” she says “that’s nice. we need to forage for kindling and see if the general store has vegetables today and also Europe is at war” it really puts things into perspective. I’m living that Ben Percy lifestyle without the muscles and the Wolverine voice.
One of the nice things about yesterday’s Bat-Announcement is the wonderful industry well-wishers in my email box:
If you told me when I was a teenager that THE Mark Waid would be trying to mentally break me in the year 2022 I’d say “wait he’s still alive”
But for real, with all the horrible news yesterday it was nice to have so many people reach out to me who weren’t Mark Waid. It means a lot. This is a weird industry, filled with people who work by themselves all day, every day, in tiny rooms, slowly losing their minds. So to have them all be so supportive and kind means a lot, y’know?
Okay! Enough of this “being genuine” bullshit! I’ve got a lot of specific thank yous to dole out, but I’ll save that for another time.
