I caught up on Captain America over the holiday and I think it’s the best book coming out at Marvel! It feels like I’m on the ground floor of a run as great as your daredevil run.
I’m really surprised by how much I am enjoying the story of David, he’s a really tragic character. I also think your voice for cap is really incredible. “Doom was right, I have to be light” and then the reveal of the captain america costume was a really great moment.
Anyway just wanted to check in Chip and know that I’m really loving your stuff!
Also today is my birthday and Miguel is coming over for a nice sushi dinner. Just figured you should know.
Aw, man! So glad you dig it! It's been super satisfying to write. Also, just so you know, Miguel is allergic to shellfish. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him.
Absolutely agreed about Captain America. It's a strong, affecting piece of writing. I also thought the Captain America / Wonder Woman story was very good. Its ending seems to have been controversial. Personally, I thought Diana's reasoning made excellent sense, and find it a little worrying that people are so quick to insist on vigilante solutions. It's not a sign of social health.
And it's good to see Chip so concerned about Miguel. It's a sign of generosity and healing, and it's nice there were no hard feelings about the court order.
Oh I loved seeing some of your original art in that Comic Frontier article.
Such a nice variety, and the personal pieces were especially beautiful. Your oil painting was cool too.
I remember seeing that Jim Chueng Reed Richards! But did I read it? 🫣
Being that you’re writing Wolverine and Weapon X, will Maverick be involved? I know you can’t answer about David Colton, so I figured I ask about Maverick instead.
I finally read the Carnage story you and Marco did. It is so fantastic. Can’t wait until you work together again.
I really enjoy what you’re doing with Doom and Cap.
Oh, after almost two years I finally! started my comics conversations project (Inkterviews) that will most definitely veer into Daredevil & King Daredevil waters. Focusing on art and story process and things (Not just how much I love the characters.)
I know you’ve kindly agreed to talk to me twice now Chip (Thank you 🙏😈). I’m so lo-fi, would you be okay with doing a written interview? No rush, whenever your schedule permits.
If you’re interested, the first inkterview is with Mahmud Asrar (and -oh no- it’s about a page from Amazing X-Men 2 and beardo Cyclops)
Can't believe that hack Ryan Stegman thinks he can beat you at your newsletter game. I'm going to subscribe to it, but only so I can keep an eye on him and report back on any funny business. Also, I did not catch that you were referencing the Doom action figure from the OG Mattel Secret Wars line in Will of Doom. So cool.
Also, that Nathan Fielder painting is beautiful! Do you know if there have been any offers on it yet? If not, can you let them know that my offer is I will pay three compliments?

Thank you again for always creating great stories, art, characters, and newsletters Chip.
It’s always a treat to read your thoughts. Now, Ryan Stegman? I don’t know.
Have a great week, Chip.
Can't spoil anything about the Wolverine mini, SORRY!!!
And definitely up for a written interview! Send me your questions via DM!
Hi Chip,
no problem about no spoilers for Wolvie and Armageddon. I get it.
Yay! Thank you to the 3rd power for agreeing to an interview. I’ll reach out when I’m ready (probably not until next month due to real life 🫣).
Have a wonderful week.

I should’ve known you love Nathan Fielder, I’ve never been surprised by your taste in things. Nathan for You is superior television
Nathan (For You) would be honoured to be immortalised by the artist behind Sex Criminals and other works.
Dear Chip,
This is very funny: "also ryan stegman i guess"
Also, that Nathan Fielder painting is beautiful! Do you know if there have been any offers on it yet? If not, can you let them know that my offer is I will pay three compliments?
