Maybe Han SoLOGAN?

Last week Marvel announced the above comic and, frankly, I can’t believe it took them this long. I think every Marvel creator has pitched “Marvel Meets (Disney-owned property)” at some point. God knows the Star Wars editors are sick of my emails filled with horrible portmanteaus. Below is the first one I ever sent, back in 2017, to the Star Wars editor at the time, Mr. Jordan White:

He said no to me (me!) and then was promoted to X-Men editor?? There’s no justice in the world.

Anyway, the recent announcement jogged a memory of my time at the newspaper. When the story broke that Disney had acquired Marvel, I made a thing resembling a letter from Disney to Marvel with some suggested changes to the IP. Here are just a couple:

I’m still proud of THE PROFESSOR AND HIS MEN and should probably work on another email to the Marvel editors??

Comics are dumb and fun. Keep it up, comics.

This week it’s all AVENGERS, baby! Our penultimate issue is here and, boy, is it a doozy. In a lot of interviews for this book I keep stressing that I wrote the majority of it back in 2019, and I think you’ll see why once you read it.
