Your Daredevil run -especially this current arc- gives you more Metal cred than me Chip. 🤘😈. I am not surprised you know those MTHJ filmmakers too. 🙂 Have a great week Chip.

Oh yeah, Burt Reynolds’s finger gun stamp of approval is so much better than my calling Donny Osmond an asshole due to the leather jacket he was wearing at a record shop meet & greet. Donny’s leather jacket had Metal Chick written on the back, which annoyed your true Metal Gal here clutching Motörhead & Bolt Thrower cds, promptly told Donny my verbal affection in front of a horrified throng.
I promise I won’t insult you when I meet you Chip, even if you don’t like heavy metal. I’ve matured oh so slightly since then.
Besides, you met and sold Learning English stuff to Chow Yun-Fat.
…Ahem…
Daredevil 12…WOW. I kind of knew something like this was up, but your beautiful twist on that last page made me so happy. That is so cool to see young MWOF Matt’s desire from DD #1 actually manifest. I am still cheering about that.
And while on the subject of DD 12, nice to see that character again, but Matt left the weapon he took from that character behind (outside of the Siege Infernal)?!? D’oh!
Anyway, thanks for sharing your awesome real life and comic stories, Chip. Your newsletter and comics make my week.
A friend just recently reminded me how good Smokey and the Bandit was. I'm always scared to revisit movies I loved in case they no longer hold up!
My greatest Burt movie memory was my parents taking eight-year-old me to se THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS in theatres. So much nudity. A very formative experience for Li'L Chipster!!!
When you addressed me in the 1st paragraph as "dead reader", I actually wondered if I was dead for a moment. Thank you for that minor existential crisis. It's made the day memorable. (Double thumbs up) I will cherish that wink & finger gun forever.
As a professional audiobook narrator, I'm both astonished by his decision to use a bad Irish accent (for some reason?!) and heartbroken that he probably made more money on that job than I'll ever make on one of mine.
Man, you live such a cool life.
I've been blessed!!!!
dear chip,
happy holidays kid, indeed!
love,
myq

Ha! Bad form, Donny Osmond!!
I am not a metal guy, but I know the dudes who made METAL: A HEADBANGER'S JOURNEY, so that should buy me some metal cred!!
Wow that Moby Dick excerpt was more than I could've dreamed.
it's SO GOOD
the accent alone is such a treat.
I still have my British Tits For The Lads subscription. Also, The Supple Boiz are pretty damn annoying!
they're lucky they're so damned cute!!!!
I know in my heart of hearts that wink and pistol gun were just for me.
Jealous!!! I actually live in the fictional birthplace of Burt Reynolds as claimed by Burt Reynolds back in the day
As a fellow Burt, I had a wild minute where I was like "wait is Chip writing something directly to me? Oh no, okay, this makes a lot more sense."
Chip what's on your Mount Rushmore of Burt flicks?
(You can always just say Sharky's Machine four times.)

Smokey not only holds up, but it's got an RIPPER of a theme song. Shout-out to Jerry Reed for covering his bases by also recording West Bound and Down

to be fair, he IS Burt Reynolds
I refuse to be fair.
