When I first saw that picture of Kagan with his signs I thought "that looks like something Chip would do. To get attention". Great minds, am I right..?
Good work on Batman this week. The Robin twist was veeeeeeery interesting. Hoping u came up with a fun Zur name for Damien now.
Hmm, maybe you can answer why there’s such a long delay between trade releases for your Batman series. At least 2 whole books have been complete now, but the release dates for Gotham War and Joker Year 1 are still all the way into the second half of the year. Why u think that is?
Also I hope u don’t mind my asking, and I apologize if I asked this already, but does absolute power affect ur story any, with Zur being recruited by Waller and her bureau of sovereignty? Hopefully not. Hopefully u were able to work things around so you could still write how u wanted to write the run, without ur work and mark’s getting too tangled up.
Looking forward very much to seeing how avengers twilight ends. Honestly if there’s one thing this run did for me, it’s complete change how I look at Ms Marvel. She’s a badass here.
I have zero idea about trade releases, sorry! I'm sure there's a reason for the timing that's far beyond my pay grade!
Absolute Power doesn't affect my story, really! All it did was give me a month to aim for for where this arc ends! We've been talking about it for a looooong time, so everything worked out well.
And that’s good. How long in advance do you think you creatives have to work on these little details for these big events? I mean how long has absolute power been in the works for?
I can't recall for certain but it's been at least a year and a half I think? It's changed a bunch over time, but the main thrust of it has been the same throughout. Because it involves Batman (and Failsafe), I was in on the ground floor discussions.
Cool. I often wonder how many, and which creatives get to be, as you said, on the ground floor on the planning stages for these events. Figure most anytime whoever Batman’s writer is will be one, and whoever else is writing for whatever character is also involved in the story. I admit the premise of everything that is happening is somewhat exciting, but at the same time I hate Waller, and don’t want to imagine her winning, even temporarily, so I find myself conflicted about Absolute Power and what comes after.
Curious, in ur opinion, would you call Waller a villain? Beyond just this phase of comics and event, d you see her as more a villain than a morally gray character, or an antagonist in the literary sense of the word?
I agree that it always comes down to the writer in the end. But as a whole, I think the character of Amanda Waller, for all the intrigue and interest she generates for the DC Line, gets away with way too much, and sees zero repercussions for what she does. Hopefully by the time the heroes beat her and her backers, that will change.
Now that’s an all time great con setup.
it truly is. Kagan is a genius. You should have him on OFF PANEL!
I was about ready to say I already had, but it turns out I only talked to him about Kaptara on SKTCHD! Nine years ago!
Do you really like breaking the law or was that supposed to be “satire” …………………………….. jay walking is no joke…………
i don't give a SHIT about crosswalks
Oh you and Kagan have to do stand up (sit down?) routines at cons, Chip.
Question 4 Kagan: But what is a minutetaur?
When I first saw that picture of Kagan with his signs I thought "that looks like something Chip would do. To get attention". Great minds, am I right..?
Kagan's con setup is the best I've ever seen, and the two of you doing creepshow is exciting.
Besides being brilliant, those signs made me miss Hobest Ed’s something fierce
I thought he said Minotaur poutine. Now that would’ve been a heck of a hashtag. I’m just waiting for Infinite “Kung-fu: the Sequel—The Minotaur Touch”
he's obsessed!!!
No strong feelings either way. #MinotaurRoutine
Oooh Guru-la-la! I’m so happy to hear the Creepshow news, Chip. I’ll be scare, um, there.
Love Kagan’s con set up. So brilliant. I hope to see it, you, and Kagan at NYCC this year. Pretty please?
Have a great weekend, Chip.
Bummed I can’t make it to TCAF this year. Although it’s always jam-packed, I always have a good time. I still treasure my copy of shitty watchmen.
Fun times all around it seems.

Keep up the good work chipper!

lol, no worries chip. Just figured I’d ask.

Honestly, it all depends on the writer. In one writer's hands she's a villain, in another, a morally grey character. I like her as a character!

can't wait to get my hands on creepshow!
Tashi-deleg, Chip-la. ཁ་ཀེན་གྱིས་དེ་བསྐྱལ་སོང་།
what
"Yo, Chip-la. Kagan just gave away you're the Joker."
And since we know the Joker's Tibetan is pretty terrible (illiterate, really bad accent) we have further confirmation.
oh no
So Guru-la is looking to be a bit whiffy. Looking forward to Creepshow story, anywho. We need more anthologies.
