"Fantastic" Four
The joys of micro-celebrity
I love being a micro-micro-celebrity, the kind of person who tends to only get recognized within three blocks of a comic convention. Sometimes I get spotted in the wild, and it’s genuinely nice. I’ve received free drinks at bars, free desserts at restaurants, looked like a big shot in front of my friends. It’s great!
Two days ago I was walking down the street and a couple walked past. One of them said, “I love everything you write” and I beamed and said “Thanks!” as we all kept walking. But then a moment later I turned and shouted, “what about my art?!” because it’s never enough.
In fun, related news, this week I’m going to be at Comicpalooza in Houston!
Truly it’s the first time I’ve felt like a micro-celebrity and not a micro-micro celebrity, as they’ve used my badass image in their “celebrity montage” on the convention homepage.
I’m especially amused by this foursome, of Creed from The Office, Rebecca Romijn, Freddy Kruger, and me. I feel like Marvel really missed out on the casting of a future film.

While I was at another convention, C2E2 in Chicago, I had the chance to be interviewed by The Astonishing Melanie from Near Mint Condition! It’s a good one! Unless you hate me, then it’s a BAD one!
