Sometimes you’re just down. Things aren’t going your way. Your wife calls you “shithead” a bunch. Your Starlord comic gets cancelled. Your wife says you “look like shit.” The universe feels like it’s against you. You’ve spent too much money on a Substack subscription. Your wife says “stop talking shit about me on the internet.”

During moments like this, I just pop open a browser tab and ask the web to show me George Lucas yelling at Amazing Spider-Man writer Zeb Wells:

What, you can’t recognize George Lucas? He’s the guy in the video that already figured out he needs a beard.

Anyway, stumbling on this gave me the will to go on! And part of me “going on” is to tell you about some IMPORTANT NEWS!

IT’S SIGNATURE TIME!!!!

Yes, for those of you who signed up as ANNUAL or CHIPNUTZ subscribers, this is your chance to get comics signed by me through Comic Sketch Art! They’ve sent me the following info for doing so, so PAY ATTENTION!!!!

The cost for raw (gross) signature is $10/book, max. 10 books. CGC signatures are $20/book, max. 10 books. All the extra costs around shipping and CGC fees are laid out below from the fine people at CSA:

Please put the following information on the back of each backer board: 

-Your name 
-Your address 
-Your cell phone number 
-Your email address (associated with paypal) 
-Note if you would like Raw or CGC*

*Note all CGC submissions will be submitted on our account at a cost of $75 per book. 

Please enclose a prepped bag and board with your raw or graded book. To do this, draw a box on the bag where you would like the creator to sign on the book. Cut out the square and place you book back in the bag/board or include the bag and board with the cgc book. If this is not done, there will be a $5 prep fee per book. 

Return shipping on raw books is $28 within Canada and the US. This includes up to 5 single issue comics. Larger submissions and International shipping will incur additional costs.

I’m deep in the woods right now (avoiding Batman fans), so I’ll be signing these all in the fall when I’m in THE BIG CITY, so get them in ASAP!!!

Also, I have NO PLANS to attend any shows in 2022/2023/maybe ever? So this is probably your only chance for signatures. What can I say? The pandemic has cured me of large convention crowds and any lingering warm feelings for popular culture!

By now you’re probably wondering, “well what books should I get signed?” Well, you’re in luck because there are NEW BOOKS out this week!

BATMAN: THE KNIGHT #6 is my favourite issue of the series. It brings a young Bruce Wayne to my home country, where he learns some really hard lessons. And it’s SO PRETTY. Look at that art by Carmine and Ivan! Worth the price of admission alone!

And NEWBURN #8 is out! This is the end of our first arc and it’s a doozy! We’re starting to get to the heart of Easton Newburn, and it might be a little … scary???

As always, Jacob knocks it out of the park. If you’ve been missing out, don’t worry! The first eight issues will be out from Image in late August, so tell your retailer!

This will collect the main story, but NOT the backups, so you should be getting the single issues to find out how Casey and Soo’s haunting story Spook-A-Rama ends up!
