Still can’t believe the adventure is over. There’s something very special about this run. It felt, for lack of a better word, complete from start to finish. So many runs have so many stories that could be their own things, but this…from start to finish it all felt like one amazing story. And that’s something that I don’t think many still do anymore. Hence why I’m gonna be sad at ur leaving.
BUT!!!
The return of the legendary Jeph Loeb does balm the hurt a little, won’t lie.
STILL!!!!
I’ll miss u on the DC marquis, especially when u had so much more to contribute I can already imagine. But I’m very happy we had u for the time we did, and will NEVER forget any of it.
(Especially Batman #125)
SPEAKING OF!!!
When’s ur next big project from the usual suspects going to drop now that bats is done? Back over to the house of ideas? Image? Dynamite?
EITHER WAY!!!
I’m stoked for what you have planned.
Thanks so much for an amazing 2 1/2 years with the caped crusader, Chip. It’s been Bat-Tastic!!
I feel like with all the Jeff the Land Shark hype (apparently due to Marvel Rivals), that if Kelly Thompson doesn't want to do a Jeff book, Chip would also knock it out of the park. Imagine Jeff and Howard the Duck teaming up to solve an Atlantean mystery.
After Mark Waid left Daredevil, I was disappointed at the tonal shift on the title under Soule (even though it was a great run). I had the same feeling after Tom King’s run too on Batman. (Not a knock on Tynion!) In both cases I felt strongly about the characters’ (the person under the mask) advancement within Waid’s and King’s runs. I feel very much the same here. I loved your run immensely, starting with the Dark Knight “prequel.”
I know what you explored with Bruce (his obsession, his radical planning, his family’s legacy, etc.) and the dichotomy that we’re all somewhat two-faced will change under another writer. Someone else will put their spin on what that all means. But I genuinely believe you had a fresh character take and some brilliant theatrics.
And you had Batman survive a fall from space. So suck it Loeb!
Now that this arc (and run 😢) have come to an end: how satisfying was it that all our guesses for Commander Star were so wrong initially? How good did you feel when you saw guesses like Lincoln March?
Thank you for such a wonderful, weird and terribly exciting run. I'm sad we won't get to see you explore more of this healthier Bruce, but I'm very excited for whatever is next!! MORE CROSSWORDS!!?!?!
Wayside Comics & Cocktails is the best! I won't be able to make it up there this week, but Omar runs such a good shop. Really cool community. You're going to have the best time.
You definitely need to snap a pic holding Andre's World Title too. It's a rite of passage.
I cant believe the batman chip-era is over .... I'm gonna be sad , issue 132 hits so hard , I will never forget this incredible run ! hey chip how does it feel you lasted longer and did batman book ?
I'm looking forward what you bring in the table!!! ( crying emoji )
Thanks for all the fun times on Batman! Gonna miss seeing you and Jorge working together on the most well-known superhero in all of fiction. And while I already own Public Domain in singles, I'm probably going to double dip on the trades just because they look so nice.
Thanks for an incredible run! Can’t wait to read the final issue. And I scooped up the Public Domain trade because who wants to dig through a long box when you need to reread that sweet sweet Public Domain again?!
Chip! Thanks for all the bats! I really enjoyed your Batman run. I was so hyped for the finale I binged all of your daredevil run last weekend and listened to some older off panel interviews.
In your most recent time on the podcast (episode 435) you mentioned that the world needed more KGBeast! When you joked about that did you already know you were going to be using him in your Batman run?
Love ya Chip! Hyped to read the second public domain trade

I'm back at Marvel! Should be an announcement ... soon???
YAY!!!! Moar Marvelous Chipwiches. I mean woot, yipee, and stuff!
Congrats on your Bat-run, Chip.👏👏👏🥳
I will definitely pick up Public Domain v.2 and remain a devoted reader of ZCN & eventually the rest of your output.
Late to reply, but very glad to hear all the news in Chip Land.
Have an awesome week, Chip!

Ha! Yeah, it's always tricky teasing out a mystery. Happy it landed!
With stuff like Newburn and Stillwater, I hope you have more thrillers and mysteries in our future!

CONGRATS ON THE BAT-FLAP
THANKS PAL

Ha! Oh yeah, I knew
Loved your Batman run (even if you didn’t bring Alfred back) and I love Public Domain even more!
My number one regret! Should've brought him back!
🙂↕️👏👏👏👏👏 saved it all week. What a ride, Chip! Thank you and Jorge and Mike and Tony and all the colorists and letterers the last 3 years! Hell yeah!
