Still haven’t received my signed comic. I paid for it. Sent an email to someone at comic sketch art with no response. I don’t Kobe what to do other than just wait. I’m a little nervous, though...
Ha! I'm not even that INTO my hoodie! I'm just so lazy and cheap. But also I don't want to buy cheap stuff? Like, I went jacket shopping the other day and was, like "Four hundred dollars for a jacket?! Fuck OFF" and then I'd see a jacket for a hundred bucks and go "ugh cheap fast fashion? no THANKS"
so I guess I need a two hundred dollar jacket is what i'm saying
I usually like to be a jerk in the comments, but are OK/is there anything we readers can do? Maybe some anonymous concern *is* being a total jerk, but between "All the above may make it seem like I have it, you know, together, but I really do not" and your expression of burning out in a newsletter last month, I worry.
Sorry for getting serious and real and personal! You can tell me go back to making the cheapest insults possible.
OK, great to hear! Then let me ask you: in the image you shared of Public Domain 6, the script indicates that panel 3 has only one person talking - maybe one line of dialogue? But in the thumbnails, I count *nine* speech bubbles.
Hate to do this on your post, Chip. Is there anyway I can know when to expect my signed. Book by you from CGC? I’ve email comic sketch art and no response...
No worries at all! I just emailed CSA and they said they'll be flying with the CGC books to the US this month and they will be submitted asap by their Signature Series Coordinator! Sorry for the delay! These books GET AROUND
Hey Chip, was listening to the podcast while doing some drawing yesterday. Always great to hear you talking about your career and the deep dive into Public Domain. It's easily my favorite comic you're doing right now. I remember you mentioning in one of David's podcasts that you can't really envision a 'Chip' fan (writing totally different books in a wide variety of genres, where's the overlap?) - and I've got to agree with that, because to be totally honest with you, I could care less about you writing Batman. I'm here for the feels and reals that you're adding to the comic industry, diversifying the medium through stories that expand the genres.
The conversation around manga is a great example of how we're just not doing a good job tapping into the non-superhero comic. I admire you paving the way for books like that here in the west. I hope we can find sustainable paths forward for those types of creators, as I think it's so important to the medium!
Aw, thanks! And yeah, doing the podcast has really opened my eyes to new ways of telling stories, and how variety is super important in what gets told.
Ahh the before times. I remember them well. That's nice to hear. It's thought bubble this weekend (which I can't attend as usual) but it got me wondering if you'd ever think of getting over this way. Until then, I hope your forest life continues to treat you well.
Wow. Adding vowels to my website's name. I'm going to talk to my lawyer.
I just wanted to make sure everyone got it!!

Don't be nervous! I'll make sure you're taken care of! Let me know your email address and I'll inquire
Tinyhacker@aol.com thank you so much!
I’ve got a 15 year old hoodie with holes in both armpits. It’s my favorite, and there will be HELL TO PAY if it ever gets thrown out

Office sketch looks neat. I was wondering if there were things you were doing that make doing Public Domain easier than Sex Criminals. It looks great!
Loved the Off-Panel interview. Best comics podcast there is!
Haven't commented for a few newsletters so:
- Loving getting my grubby hands on the print editions. Can't wait to put the trade in the hands of my grubby friends.
- Batman has been BONKERS. KUDOS KUDOS KUDOS.
I used 3D models on Sex Criminals too! But mostly so I could draw cars at weird angles.

Ha! Thank you but I'm fine. Yeah, there's a lot of work, but really my mental health is totally good, I swear!

Is this because you're an idiot? ;)
Ha! That's marker coming through from the OTHER side of the page!
also I'm an idiot

Thank you so much! So, it’ll still be about a month or so?
Honestly it depends on the CGC backlog I'd imagine

Chip do you think you'll visit the UK at any point in the next 10-15 years? i
Yeah, probably! I did a few signings there in the BEFORE TIMES and I'm starting to feel okay about travel again!

Yeah! I was invited to Thought Bubble but the timing didn't work out, so hopefully next year!
Jiménez had a great time dressed as the Joker in a Spanish con, along with Taylor and Tynion IV. You should come by some day!
I WASN'T INVITED
I would never be caught dead in the same room as Jimenez, I’d look at him, look at myself and cry.
